📍 Pakistan | July 2025
In a horrifying case that has once again exposed the vulnerability of religious minorities in Pakistan, a young Christian girl was reportedly abducted by a local mosque imam and his associates, taken to the mosque premises, and gang-raped.
According to emerging reports, the victim was left critically injured inside the mosque when her condition worsened. Believing her to be near death, the perpetrators allegedly abandoned her at the scene.
💔 A Crime Against Humanity—and Faith
This incident has sparked widespread outrage across social media and human rights circles—not only because of the brutality of the act, but also due to the sacred space in which it was committed. The use of a religious institution to carry out such a heinous crime has deeply shaken both local communities and observers abroad.
The case underscores the urgent need for accountability, as well as the protection of Pakistan’s religious minorities, particularly women and girls who often face violence with little or no access to justice.
⚖️ Impunity Must End
Advocates and rights organizations are now demanding:
-
The immediate arrest of all individuals involved
-
A transparent, independent investigation free from religious or political interference
-
Strong legal action to ensure that justice is served
-
Urgent medical and psychological support for the survivor
“This is not only a crime against a Christian girl—it’s a crime against every Pakistani, every faith, and every principle of human dignity,” said one local human rights activist.
