Young Christian Man Fatally Shot in Pak🇵🇰 Amid Religious Tensions

Pakistan – Gulfam Masih, a 19-year-old Christian youth, was tragically killed after being shot by Muhammad Ejaz, a Muslim man, in what appears to be a hate-motivated incident that has shocked local communities and reignited concerns over minority rights in the country.

The incident occurred while Gulfam was riding a motorcycle with his uncle. According to eyewitnesses, Ejaz directed abusive language toward the young man. When Gulfam asked him to stop, Ejaz responded by pulling out a firearm and shooting him in the back of the head. Gulfam died on the spot.

A First Information Report (FIR) has been registered with local authorities, and Ejaz has been taken into custody. However, human rights advocates and members of the Christian community fear that due to Ejaz’s religious majority status, justice may not be served.

This tragic case underscores the vulnerability of religious minorities in Pakistan, where systemic discrimination and impunity often hinder justice. Community leaders are calling for a transparent investigation and equal application of the law, regardless of faith.

The death of Gulfam Masih is not just a personal tragedy for his family—it is a painful reminder of the urgent need for reform to ensure that every citizen, regardless of religion, is protected under the law.
