Open Hooliganism in Sukkur: Minority Community Under Threat🚨

Sukkur, Sindh – A troubling wave of open hooliganism has made it increasingly difficult for the minority community, particularly Hindus, to conduct business in Sukkur. Recently, a violent attack on a shop belonging to Santosh Kumar, a motorcycle mechanic from the Hindu minority, has raised serious concerns about safety and security in the area.

In a brazen display of aggression, over 15 influential individuals from the Malik community assaulted Santosh Kumar’s shop located near the Board Office of the Site Area Police Station. Armed with weapons and iron bars, the attackers injured not only Santosh but also several others, including Dilip Kumar, Bhawan Kumar, and students Aamir Mehr, Arif Qureshi, and Irfan Mirani. The injured were swiftly transported to the Civil Hospital Sukkur for medical attention.

Speaking out about the incident, Santosh Kumar revealed that the assailants, identified as Salim Malik, Wasim Malik, Fahim Malik, and Farhan Malik, aimed to force him to close his shop. “They want us to shut down our business so that their shop can thrive,” he stated. Santosh emphasized the camaraderie among local mechanics and laborers, who strive to earn a decent living through hard work. He expressed frustration over the harassment they have faced for months, including threats and intimidation tactics aimed at driving them out of business.

In light of this violent attack, Santosh Kumar has called upon Sindh’s Inspector General (IG), the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Sukkur, and the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) to ensure their safety and take swift action against the perpetrators.
