In a heartbreaking turn of events, Sanjay Kumar, a Hindu businessman who was seriously injured in a targeted killing in Larkana city on the evening of February 14, has sadly passed away in a hospital in Karachi. This tragic incident not only highlights the ongoing violence against minorities in Pakistan but also tells the story of a young man who faced immense challenges throughout his life.
Sanjay Kumar was the sole brother to two younger sisters. Orphaned at a young age, he was left to navigate a cruel society without the support of his parents. Despite the overwhelming responsibilities thrust upon him, Sanjay embraced his role with determination, raising his sisters, providing them with education, and ensuring they were married off with dignity.
His life was marred by violence; the first attack on Sanjay occurred on September 30, 2023, during a robbery at his shop, where he was shot and seriously injured. Sadly, this was not the end of his suffering. On the night of Shab-e-Barat, he was targeted again, resulting in critical injuries that led to his admission in a private hospital in Karachi. Despite his brave fight for survival, Sanjay ultimately lost the battle for his life, leaving behind a grieving family.
As we mourn the loss of Sanjay Kumar, we extend our heartfelt condolences to his family. This tragedy serves as a stark reminder of the oppression faced by the Hindu community in Pakistan, particularly in Sindh.
We call upon the rulers and authorities to take immediate action to arrest and severely punish those responsible for Sanjay’s murder.
