Outrage in Umerkot🇵🇰: Minor Hindu Girl Abducted, Raped, Forcibly Converted, and Married💔 in Sindh

Umerkot, Sindh🇵🇰- In a shocking and distressing incident that has sent waves of anger and despair through the Hindu community in Sindh, an FIR has been registered at the Women Police Station in Umerkot on the complaint of Kamla Oad, a widowed mother, whose 14-year-old orphan daughter, Shardha Oad, was allegedly abducted, raped, forcibly converted to Islam, and married to a man named Riaz Ali.

The Incident

According to the FIR (No. 468/25, dated 01-09-2025), Shardha Oad went missing from her home on July 23, 2025. Despite frantic searches by her mother and relatives, she could not be traced. The following day, it was confirmed that the minor girl had been abducted by a group of men, including Sikandar Kharat, and forcibly confined.

The complaint further states that the accused not only kidnapped Shardha but also trespassed into her home at night, indicating a premeditated crime. The girl was allegedly subjected to rape, forced religious conversion, and an illegal marriage in violation of the Sindh Child Marriage Restraint Act 2013.

  • Mullah Bashir Ahmed Soomro (who solemnized the marriage)
  • Ali Hassan Dilwani and Ali Bux Dilwani (witnesses to the marriage)

  • Rape and illegal confinement

Kamla Oad, the mother, has demanded strict legal action against the accused, urging authorities to ensure justice for her daughter.

A Pattern of Persecution

This incident is not isolated. Sindh has increasingly become a region where Hindu girls and women face systematic persecution, including forced conversions, abductions, and marriages. Activists and community leaders have repeatedly raised concerns about the failure of law enforcement to protect minority communities, particularly Hindu girls, who remain vulnerable to such crimes.

Demand for Justice

Human rights organizations and local Hindu communities have condemned the incident, calling for:

  • Immediate arrest of all accused
  • Protection for the victim and her family
  • Strict enforcement of laws against forced conversions and child marriages

The case has sparked outrage on social media, with the hashtag #JusticeForShardhaOad trending as citizens demand accountability and an end to the persecution of minority communities in Pakistan.

Will the authorities act swiftly to deliver justice, or will Shardha Oad become another forgotten victim in a long list of atrocities against Hindu girls in Sindh?
