The temple’s caretaker shares that two tunnels within the cave are believed to connect to the Hinglaj Mata Temple, further emphasizing its importance in the spiritual landscape of the region.Dedicated toĀ Goddess Kali, the name “Kalka” translates to “power” in the ancientĀ ShasthiĀ language. Devotees flock to the temple, particularly on the first Monday evening of every month, seeking blessings and strength from the goddess.

The Kalka Cave Temple is thought to be several million years old, as anthropogenic evidence in the form of stone tools has been discovered in the nearbyĀ Rohri Hills, dating back 1.9 million years. However, the temple as we see it today was constructed in theĀ 1920sĀ by a prosperous Hindu merchant namedĀ Hemraj Kewalramani.Perched atop a hill, the temple offers stunning views ofĀ Sukkur, creating a serene atmosphere for worship. The architectural design reflects a spirit of harmony, blending Hindu and Islamic styles. In addition to the original structure, several chambers have been added to accommodate prayers and the influx of tourists, particularly during festivals.
