Hindu Girl of Karachi converted to Islam at Bharchundi Dargah in Ghotki

Karachi, May 7th, 2024 – In a significant personal decision, Shamaila, daughter of Krishna Kumar and a resident of Allahabad Town, Hub Chowki, Karachi, embraced Islam at the residence of Pir Mian Javed Ahmed Qadri in Bharchondi. Shamaila, who has now adopted the Islamic name Ghulam Zahra, cited personal influence and inspiration by the teachings of Islam as her reasons for conversion.

This event took place in the presence of Pir Mian Javed Ahmed Qadri, a renowned religious figure in the area. During a brief interaction with the media, Ghulam Zahra emphasized that her decision was made voluntarily and without any external pressures.

“I have embraced Islam purely out of my admiration for its teachings and principles,” Ghulam Zahra stated. “There is no pressure on me regarding my decision; it is made out of my own will and understanding.”

Religious conversions are a sensitive issue, and the assurance from Ghulam Zahra about the absence of coercion addresses concerns that often arise in such situations. The event was conducted peacefully and with respect to the legal and personal rights of all involved.

This incident highlights the religious diversity and personal freedoms enjoyed in Karachi, reflecting an individual’s right to adopt a religion of choice as guaranteed under the national constitution.
