Controversy Unfolds as Young Hindu Girl Converts and Marries in Hyderabad, Pakistan

Manju, a Hindu girl residing in the Bhitai Nagar area of Qasimabad, Hyderabad, mysteriously disappeared, raising concerns among her family and community. Her father, Krishna, suspected her kidnapping. After a week of uncertainty, Manju reappeared alongside Muzamil Laghari, a Karachi resident.

Addressing the media at the Hyderabad Press Club, Muzamil Laghari claimed that Manju had embraced a new religion, adopting the name Fatima, and that they had entered into marriage. This revelation has stirred controversy in the city.

Krishna, a financially struggling father who earns a living by selling blooms, expressed distress over his daughter’s conversion and marriage. Despite his concerns, Krishna did not file a formal case regarding the matter.

In response to inquiries, Manju stated that she is 18 years old, but her national identity card has not been issued.

The incident highlights the sensitive issue of religious conversions and interfaith marriages in the region, prompting discussions about individual rights, family dynamics, and the broader societal implications.
