Another Heinous Incident💔: Forced Conversion and Marriage of Hindu Girl ‘Nirjala’ in Sindh

In yet another act of oppression against minorities in Sindh Pakistan, A Hindu girl named Nirjala, daughter of Attu Mal and a resident of Kumbo Daro, Kapuru, has reportedly been forcibly converted to Islam and married to a Muslim man, Muhammad Ali Hangoro. After her conversion, she has been given the Islamic name Ayesha. The incident unfolded in a court in Hyderabad, where the girl appeared to formalize the conversion and marriage under suspicious circumstances, And as usual, the girl films her statement to the media, saying that she has changed her religion of her own free will and that the law should protect her.

This is not an isolated event but part of a disturbing and growing pattern of violence and oppression targeting Hindu minorities, particularly in Sindh. Forced conversions, marriages, and even murders of minority women have become alarmingly common, leaving the Hindu community in constant fear for the safety of their daughters and sisters.

Rape, abduction, and forced marriages are systematic tools being used to oppress minorities, stripping them of their dignity and identity. The state’s silence and inaction in the face of such gross human rights violations is not just concerning but also complicit. When the state fails to ensure justice and protection for its minorities, it emboldens perpetrators and normalizes such heinous acts. The Hindu community in Pakistan has long been subjected to extreme forms of oppression, and the situation shows no signs of improvement. Each new incident is a grim reminder of the systematic erosion of minority rights, with women and girls bearing the brunt of this injustice.

It is time for the international community and human rights organizations to take notice of these atrocities and hold Pakistan accountable for its failure to protect its citizens regardless of their faith. The Hindu community must also unite and demand justice, both locally and globally, to end this cycle of violence and oppression.

The voices of minorities cannot remain unheard. The safety, dignity, and rights of every individual must be protected, regardless of their religion.
